Community Outreach 2025
USLI is committed to making a difference through community service, fundraising and volunteering locally. Many of our programs focus on coaching, mentoring and building relationships with children and families in the Greater Philadelphia area. Maximizing our efforts is important to us when we act, so we always engage with our customers to see how we can make an impact together.

Our 2025 Theme
Empathy 2.0
In 2023, our “Empathy” theme explored increasing our self-awareness and our understanding of others. In 2025, we built on that foundation. We can improve our empathy when we not only actively listen to the stories, experiences, challenges and emotions of others, but also ask questions and create space for shared vulnerability. This engagement helps us develop a broader, more profound understanding of people’s unique perspectives, the challenges they face and the ways they navigate them. Approaching each interaction with a desire to learn fosters acceptance, promotes allyship and creates an inclusive community where everyone feels seen, respected and valued.

CARE2 Fund
The CARE² Fund was established to give members of the USLI community the opportunity to request donations to charities or causes to which they have personal connections. In 2012, the fund was reorganized as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and renamed CARE² Fund at USLI, allowing donors to receive charitable deductions for their contributions. Also in 2012, the mission of the CARE² Fund was expanded to serve as a portal for funds raised within the community to support causes selected by the company. This allows our community members to receive receipts for their charitable contributions.
Breastcancer.org
We celebrated October Together, a month of events to raise funds for Breastcancer.org — including a Pink Out Your Pet Contest, a 5K, our annual auctions and more. USLI also donated 1% of all new business premium in October to Breastcancer.org, bringing our fundraising total to $500,000.
Team Impact
In September, USLI helped Team IMPACT meet an important need by bringing the greater Team IMPACT community together from across the Philadelphia area. We hosted the Philadelphia regional Team IMPACT community celebration for the families, college athletes, and alumni of the program. USLI also donated $60,000 to this organization in 2025.

Clean Water for Haiti
Since 2019, USLI’s support has enabled the installation of more than 25,000 water filters, providing clean drinking water to an estimated 128,000 people. These efforts have also created stable employment for 18-26 full‑time Haitian staff each year, strengthening local livelihoods and technical skill development.
Accomplished in 2025:
Over 3,500 homes received filters
Approximately 20,000 people have access to clean water
18 Haitians are employed full time

United to Beat Malaria
We've partnered with the United Nations Foundation's United to Beat Malaria campaign since 2006 — the only organization with them since inception. United to Beat Malaria (formerly Nothing But Nets) provides bed nets, diagnostics, treatment and education to families in Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean. Each bed net protects a family of four from malaria for over two years.
Malaria is particularly devastating in Africa, where it is a leading cause of death in children. In fact, there are 10 new cases of malaria every second. Each year, USLI raises funds to send nets by holding a weeklong kids camp, a bake sale, training sessions, sports tournaments, virtual events and more.
2025 was our 19th year supporting United to Beat Malaria, and we raised $42,195.62.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

At USLI, our goal is to strengthen our community and culture by representing and embracing all ethnicities, nationalities, disabilities, genders, religions and sexual orientations. We understand it is imperative to educate and immerse ourselves in others' realities, acknowledge our biases and look beyond our worldviews. Within our community, we move conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion forward to ensure every employee has a sense of belonging, a voice and a seat at the table.

First Fridays, Celebrate USLI is an internal series we offer to learn about and celebrate our fellow community members on the first Friday of every month. In 2025, we hosted a Pride fireside chat, walked and ran a Rainbow Run 5K, mapped our heritage to display the diversity of the community, enjoyed a women's history strength workout, and much more!
Vanguard Vocational Program

Since 2005, we have partnered with the Vanguard School in Malvern as part of its Community Vocational Program. Vanguard serves children with autism and Asperger's syndrome. Students from the program come to our campus one day a week for job training and coaching. Each student is assigned a coach to guide them during their time here.
Reading STARS Program

USLI has participated in the Reading STARS program since the 2007-2008 school year. Reading STARS is a phonics-based program geared toward children who are not reading at grade level. In 2020, we transitioned to a virtual program called BookNook by Scholastic. In 2025, we tutored 21 children each week throughout the school year.
A Season of Giving Back
During the 2025 holiday season, this initiative benefitted organizations local to each of our offices to support families during times of hardship. While each organization is unique, there are three main ways our community provided support:
1. Meeting the initial need to be sheltered with dignity and providing basic living items
2. Supporting educational, workforce and vocational training programs that empower families to thrive outside of a shelter program
3. Supporting the transitional programs that assist families who are moving into permanent homes
